Ronald Hamby

Ronald Jerry Hamby of Park Hills, Missouri, formerly of San Jose, California, departed this life on June 26, 2007 at his residence, having reached the age of 64 years, 4 months and 30 days. He was born at Cadet, Missouri on January 27, 1943, a son of the late Luther Hamby and Rose Ellen Barton Hamby.

On September 25, 1966, he was united in marriage to Lena Mae Faraone and three sons were born to that union. Ron was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. A dear brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Vernon Hamby, Luther Hamby, Orville Hamby, Walter Hamby; two sisters, Velma Hamby and Norma Hamby; three brothers-in-law, Oliver DeClue, David Moiser and Corky Christopher.

Ron loved his family and spending time with them. He was very active in his work, as well. He was a long-time member of the AWPPW (Association of Western Pulp and Paper Workers), a Shop Steward Union Activist for 40 years, and a Trustee of the Local and Second Delegate.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his wife, Lena Hamby of Park Hills; three sons, James Hamby of Park Hills, Ronald Hamby and wife Krista of San Jose, CA and Chris Hamby and wife Michelle of San Jose, CA; brothers, Pete Hamby and wife Leslie of Cadet, Danny Hamby and wife Lou of Cadet, Kenny Hamby and wife Kay of Cadet, Bob Hamby and wife Cleo of Cadet; sisters, Kathy Jarvis and husband Jim of Mineral Point, Annetta Drake and husband Ralph of Independence, Lorreta Brewer of Silva, Verna Crocker and husband Carl of Mineral Point, Beulah DeClue of Mineral Point, Dorothy Mosier of Potosi, Mary Pollock and husband Mick of Williamsville; two grandchildren, Jenessa Hamby and Tyler Horne; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 11 AM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi with Rev. Jeff Richards officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Chris Hamby, Ronnie Hamby, Jr., Jimmy Hamby, David Jarvis and Bobby Hamby. Honorary pallbearers were Pete Hamby and Carl Crocker.

Interment and final prayers were held at Rose Memorial Garden, Mineral Point. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
