Ronald Lee Fryman, known affectionately as Ronnie, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on February 16, 1946, in Ironton, Missouri, a son to the late James Charles Everett Fryman and Stella Irene (Akers) Fryman. Ronnie led a life characterized by hard work, dedication, and a deep love for his family.

Ronnie’s professional journey was marked by an impressive work ethic and a diverse range of careers. He began his career in the military, enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1966. That same year, he married Sharon Nickelson, the love of his life, on June 14. His military service included two years stationed in Homestead, Florida, followed by another two years in Japan. After returning to their home in Potosi, Missouri, Ronnie continued to serve, joining the United States Army Reserve in 1983, from which he ultimately retired on February 16, 2006.

Throughout his life, Ronnie held various positions that reflected his industrious nature. He worked at Pea Ridge Mines, served as a Deputy with the Washington County Sheriffs Department, drove an ambulance for Don Sparks, and operated as a Funeral Director for Britton Funeral Home, as well as part-time for DeClue Funeral Home. Additionally, he was a butcher for IGA, worked at Dresser Mineral Mines, owned and operated Potosi Wash and Wax, and was associated with American General Life Insurance Co. More recently, he served as a corrections officer for the Missouri Department of Corrections.

Ronnie was known not only for his extensive career but also for his caring personality. His family was at the heart of his life; he cherished each moment spent with them, especially his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. Ronnie had a passion for automobiles, particularly his 1991 Mustang and his Ford truck, both of which he maintained in immaculate condition. His love for cars led him to numerous car shows, where he proudly brought home many awards. Together with Sharon and his grandchildren, he enjoyed memorable trips with the Potosi Ponies (Mustang) Club. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and loved all forms of racing.

In addition to his hobbies, Ronnie expressed his artistic side through painting, inspired by his brother Pug. His faith was important to him, and he attended Potosi Southern Baptist Church with his family.

Ronnie leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of nearly 59 years, Sharon Fryman; two daughters: Belinda "Bendy" Sprague and Beau Williams and Ronda Fryman; four grandchildren: Colby (Tim) Kean-Gilmore, Dakota Kean, Nicole Fryman, and fiancé Dominic, and Harley (Madi) Kean. He is also survived by his brother, Golden "Pug" Fryman; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Jennifer Gail and Ralph Rulo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Gary Wayne Fryman, Junior Fryman, and Leo "Cotton" Fryman; his great-granddaughters: Montana & Juddson Kean, along with his mother and father-in-law, Bob and Mary Nickelson; and in-laws: Phyllis and Bill Fryman, Shirley Fryman, and Maxine Fryman.
