Rolla Clinton Strange was born on October 12, 1935 in Potosi, Missouri, a son to the late Roy Strange and the late Hallie (Shepard) Strange. Rolla was united in marriage to Joyce Collins on March 7, 1959 and they shared nearly fifty-nine years together.
Rolla went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 24, 2017 at his home having reached the age of eighty-one years, nine months and twelve days.
Rolla will be missed by all who loved and knew him including his dearest wife, Joyce Strange of Potosi; three children: Jeff Strange and wife Dena of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Judy Rahe and husband James of San Antonio, Texas; Jamie Strange and Kim VanStavern of Farmington, Missouri; two brothers: Carl Strange and wife Mary of Park Hills, Missouri; Don Strange and wife Jan of Springfield, Missouri; sister, Lohma Trokey and husband Frank of Potosi; six grandchildren: Dr. Jeremy Strange and wife Joanna, Shauna Snow and husband Travis, Emily Rahe, Paige Rahe, Hunter Strange and Bayley Strange; two great grandchildren: Jeremiah Strange and Abigail Snow; two step grandchildren: Abi and Kate Moller: In-Laws: Jerri Collins, Shirley Trokey, Phyllis Pratt and Kenny and Mary Sitton; also surviving are a of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Rolla was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Strange and wife Mary; two brothers-in-law: Bob Collins and Stanley Pratt.
The family received friends at the DeClue Funeral Home on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, July 29, from 9-11 a.m.
A Funeral Service was conducted Saturday, July 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. from the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Petty officiating.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery where Rolla received full military honors presented by the United States Army and VFW Post 6996. Honoring Rolla by serving as Pallbearers were Hunter Strange, James Rahe, Cole West, David Bettis, Thomas Gamble and Annas “Junior” Chazelle.
DeClue Funeral Home was privileged to care for the arrangements and services for Rolla during this time of remembrance.
