Roger Dale Skiles of Cadet, Missouri departed this life on Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at the Mineral Area Regional Medical Center, having reached the age of 60 years, 5 months and 25 days. He was born on September 2, 1947 at Richwoods, Missouri, a son of the late Howard Skiles and Beulah (Vance) Skiles.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Dennis Wayne Skiles and Ivan Ray Skiles; two sisters Mildred Anderson and Dorothy Skiles and his mother in-law Alberta Doss.
On September 18, 1971, he was united in marriage to Karen Sue Doss at Potosi, Missouri and a daughter was born to that union. They shared over 36 years of marriage together. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather; a dear brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his wife, Karen (Doss) Skiles of Cadet; his daughter, Tracy Brown and husband, Keith of St. Clair; a sister, Geneva Bliss of Washington; three brothers, Bobby Skiles of Cadet, Erin David Skiles and Amber of Desoto, Charles Skiles and wife, Marie of Tucson, Arizona; two grandchildren Michael and Cody Misbauer; his father in-law Hugo Doss of Potosi; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were held at 10 AM on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Carl Parker officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Gary Doss, Kenny Reando, Wayne Bourbon, Jared Doss, Chuck Kernan and Joshua Parker.
Interment and final prayers were held at Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
