Roger Allen Greenwalt, born on February 14, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the age of 75. He was the son of the late Harold Greenwalt and Mildred (Adams) Greenwalt.
Roger had a love for the outdoors, which was evident through his passion for mowing his lawn. His enthusiasm for life extended to many activities, including annual trout fishing trips with his family and attending races with his sons, Rodney and Jeremy, who remain honored to have shared those deep bonds with him. Roger was a devoted husband to his wife Nancy Greenwalt. They were united in marriage on February 23, 1974 at Caledonia Assembly of God. They shared 51 years together. Roger along with Nancy attended First Baptist Church in Potosi.
Roger is survived by his wife Nancy Greenwalt; two sons: Rodney Greenwalt (wife, Cyndi) and Jeremy Greenwalt (wife, Andrea). A proud family man, Roger adored his grandchildren—Ryan Davidson (wife, Karen), Tara Whaley and Dylan, Rodney Greenwalt Jr., Sophia DeClue, and Eli DeClue—along with his five great-grandchildren: Cooper, Nolan, Jade, Emma, and Remi. His love for his family was limitless, making storytelling a favorite pastime as he often shared memories they shared together. His warm personality ensured he never met a stranger and his generosity shone through in his readiness to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Roger took delight in simpler pleasures, such as enjoying Monday Night RAW or settling down to watch an episode of Gunsmoke. He had a particular pride in his 1970 Camaro and frequently sought good deals at Goodwill. He leaves behind not just a legacy of love and laughter but also an impressive family lineage that includes his five siblings—Ronald Greenwalt (wife, Janie), Karen Stovall and James Rice, Connie Watson (husband, Phill), Judy White (husband, Charlie), and Larry Greenwalt (wife, Martha)—along with a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Margaret Draper; two sisters-in-law: Reva and Patsy Draper; as well as many nieces and nephews. Additionally, Roger leaves behind many bonus children that he and Nancy claimed by hosting foreign exchange students, all of whom held a special place in Rogers heart.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mildred Greenwalt; his brother and sister-in-law, David and Ella Jo Greenwalt; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Alene Draper; and in-laws Louie Draper, and Jimmy Draper.
