Robert Firman Maxwell of Desloge, Missouri passed away on November 10, 2015 at his residence having reached the age of eighty three years, five months, and seventeen days. He was born on May 24, 1932 in Caledonia, Missouri, a son to the late Curtis Maxwell and Lena (Rutledge) Maxwell.
Robert was united in marriage to Ruth Ann "Annie" Thomas on May 21, 1955 in Caledonia, Missouri. On October 16, 2004, Robert was married to Ruth Ann (Duty) Dickey in Park Hills, Missouri at the First United Methodist Church.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife Ruth Ann Maxwell of Desloge, Missouri; son Tom Maxwell and wife Vickie of Wood River, Illinois; daughter Paula Naused and husband Joe of Park Hills, Missouri; two step-daughters: Sue Johnson and husband Dale of St. Ann, Missouri and Terri Dickey of Union, Missouri; brother Bill Maxwell and wife Fredia of Caledonia, Missouri; four grandchildren: Amanda Naused Woodring, Laura Naused Pinson, Chad Maxwell, and Katie Maxwell; four great grandchildren: Raeden Woodring, Lirael Woodring, Cole Pinson, and Allison Pinson; three step grandchildren: Joshua Mitchell, Justin Dickey, and Zachary Johnson; and one step-great grandchild Hadley.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children Ruth Ann Maxwell; and brother Curtis "Max" Maxwell.
Robert served in the United States Marine Corps. from September 5, 1950 to September 4, 1953.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, November 13, 2015, at 11:00 AM held at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bob Bullock and Rev. Eddie Bone officiating.
Honoring Robert by serving as his pallbearers will be Chad Maxwell, Katie Maxwell, Amanda Woodring, Laura Pinson, Joshua Mitchell, Justin Dickey, Zachary Johnson and Beverly Wells. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bill Maxwell and Gary "Giz" Mahurin.
Interment and final prayers will take place at the Bellevue Presbyterian Cemetery with full military honors by the United States Marines and Local VFW Post# 6996 .
Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
