Robert Dodd

Robert Dale Dodd of Belgrade, Missouri passed away on May 11, 2016 at the Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center having reached the age of seventy two years, seven months, and twenty eight days. He was born on September 13, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri, a son to the late Clyde Dodd and the late Lessie (Gale) Dodd. On October 2, 1970, Robert was united in marriage to Mary (Sucharski) Dodd.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife: Mary Dodd of Belgrade; two daughters: Tina Kightlinger and husband Ron of Park Hills, and Stephenie Tucker and husband Brock of Farmington; brother Paul Dodd and wife Debbie of Belgrade; sisters: Jean Haderlein of DeSoto, Carolyn Jackson and husband Jody of Caledonia, Marcy Isgrig and husband Neil of Caledonia; sister-in-law: Alta Dodd of Farmington; grandchildren: Amber Elliott and husband Bryan; Ryan Woods and wife Amber; Zakary Dodd, and Derek Dodd; great-grandchildren: Myles Elliott, Briar Elliott, Nicholas Woods, and Donny Lashley.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his brothers: Dwayne Dodd, and Jim Dodd; and sister Doris Eulentrop.

“My dad was one of the most caring and selfless people I’ve ever known. He was always willing to help his kids, grandchildren, as well as others, and even strangers with anything they needed. He was always there for all of us” – Steph

“I remember spending many Sundays watching football, baseball, and NASCAR. I remember having many discussions about the Bible and the meaning of life. Dad used to always say when something bad happened “there’s no need to get excited, Teense. Just do what you can do.” That’s how he lived. That’s how I lived too.” – Tina

Visitation for Robert was held on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the DeClue Funeral Home, beginning at 1:30 PM. A funeral service began at 5:00 PM, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel.
