Robert Gale Bowen Jr. of Sullivan, Missouri departed this life on August 15, 2014 at his residence having reached the age of sixty years, five months and fourteen days. He was born on March 1, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri a son to the late Robert Bowen, Sr. and Charlotte (Menley) Bowen Crites.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents Albert and Mary Bowen.
On March 19, 1993, Robert was united in marriage to Debra Jones and they shared twenty one years together.
Robert was a member of the NRA and Arbor Society. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
Robert is survived by his wife Debra Bowen of Sullivan; seven children Michelle Lages and husband Richard of Pacific, Mendi Church and husband Jason of Ste. Genevieve, Robert Bowen III of Ste. Genevieve, Sean Bowen of Festus, Alicia Bowen of Bonne Terre, William Bowen of Cape Girardeau, David Bowen of Park Hills; five brothers Rick Bowen, Randy Bowen, Ron Bowen, Linard Crites, Lindell Crites; first Wife Gael Craig of Ste. Genevieve; fifteen grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 11 AM at the DeClue Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Robert Bowen III, Sean Bowen, Wil Bowen, David Bowen, Jason Church and Mike Vancil.
Interment and final prayers were held at Leadwood Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
