Robert Joseph Vinyard SR of Caledonia, Missouri, was born on December 30, 1939, in St. Louis, MO, a son of the late Thomas Lee Vinyard and the late Evelyn M. (Frossard) Vinyard. Bob passed away on November 4, 2021, having reached the age of eighty-one years, ten months, and five days.
On April 13, 1958, Bob was united in marriage to Sue, and they shared 63 wonderful years together before she passed away on June 29, 2021.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his son, Robert Vinyard Jr. (wife, Janet); daughter, Debbie Vaughn (husband, Randy); seven grandchildren: Brian Vinyard (wife, Nicki), Kevin Vinyard (wife, Sarah), Carmen Vinyard, James Thomas (wife, Sarah), John Thomas (wife, Layanne), Michael Burnau, Matthew Burnau (wife, Kelly); thirteen great-grandchildren: Kyle, Brandon, Hunter, Gabby, Christian, Thomas, Marcus, Aubree, CiCi, Taylee, Chloe, Jacob, and Conner; sisters-in-law, Brenda Jenkins, Joy Baker and Cheri Volner (husband, Lou).
Bob was the past mayor of Caledonia, owner of House Springs Barber Shop for many years, was honored to serve in the United States Army, and was a former member of TYRO Masonic Lodge in Caledonia. Many would find him hand dipping ice cream at the Carr House Antique Store in Caledonia. He loved classic cars, with the 1930 Model A being his favorite. Bob was a member of Caledonia United Methodist Church and the founding member of Classy Chassey.
In addition to his father and mother, Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janice Sue Vinyard and brother, Thomas Lee Vinyard, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 11 am till 1 pm at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, Missouri 63664.
A Masonic Service will begin at 12:30 pm. A Funeral Service will follow, beginning at 1 pm, officiated by Pastor Beth Allen. Military honors will be presented by the United States Army and VFW Post 6947. Interment will be held at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
