Robert "Bob" Dorsey

Robert L. "Bob" Dorsey, of Bonne Terre, Missouri, passed away on April 13, 2018 at his residence having reached the age of eighty-eight years. Bob was born on August 30, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, a son to the late Robert Lee Dorsey and the late Flora J. (Wakefield) Dorsey.
On March 24, 1962, Bob was united in marriage to the late Johanna Dorsey and they shared over forty years together. After the passing of his first wife, Bob married Esther Darlene (Bigham) Dorsey on December 11, 2010. Bob was a member of the Providence Baptist Church. During his life, he enjoyed traveling to visit his buddies he met while serving in the United States Army. He loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and playing with his dogs.
Bob will be missed by all who knew and loved him including his beloved wife, Esther Darlene Dorsey; four step-children: Marshall (Christy) Johnson, Marcella (David) Williams, Eric (Lisa) Whitfield, and Brian (Annie) Whitfield; many step-grandchildren; and special friends: Kay Dawson and Barb Norris; also surviving are extended family members and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his first wife, Johanna Dorsey; brother, Harold H. Dorsey; sisters: Vivian Broadstock and Geraldine J. Potts; mother-in-law, Ora Hendrickson; and dear friend, Charles Dawson.
Visitation for Bob will be held on Thursday evening, April 19, 2018 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM, held at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, with Pastor Mike Harrison officiating. Bob will receive full military honors presented by the United States Army. Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery is located at 2900 Sheridan Rd., St. Louis, Missouri, 63125.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Bob to Serenity Hospice Care, 5272 Flat River Rd, Park Hills, MO 63601. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
