Robert Lynn Barker, Jr. of Steelville, Missouri, was born on August 31, 1940 in Nokomis, Illinois, a son of the late Robert Lynn Barker and the late Wilma Emma (Altevogt) Barker. Robert passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family, having reached the age of seventy-eight years and eleven months. Robert was united in marriage to Lillian Chambers on March 13, 1964 and they shared many years together.
Survivors include eleven children: Michael (Jeanetta) Reynolds, Paula Metz, Bonnie (Bob) Gardner, Carla (Terry) Suttles, Kitty (Dale) Holcman, Diane (Alan) Farris, Rhonda Heeter, Glenn Barker, Lisa Kennedy, Beth (Tim) Gilliam, Carol (Kenny) Cooke; Grandchildren: Jeanie and Tim, Janet, Sunshine, Misty, Robbie, Bobbie, Brant, Becky, Bobbie Jo and Travis, Matt and Becky, Jake and Stephanie, Lacey and Justin, Karen, Robert, Chase, Pearlessa and Justin, Brittany and Brandon, Heather and Harold, Doug, Michael and Sabrina, Froot and Adam, Brandon and Amber, Theresa and Kyle, Kelly and Greg, Colt and Bri, Michael, Jerry, Bobby, Jason, Heidi, Dub and Elizabeth, Shawn and Jamie, Nikki and Matt, Britani and Ryan, Koty and Becca, Wendy and Dalton, Timberlyn, Logan, Mason, Bobby, Melissa; numerous great grandchildren; four sisters: Dorothy McDaniel, Carol Quick, Betty (Carl) Rhodes, Wanda Barker, Helen Barker and Mary (Steve) Smith.
In addition to his father and mother, Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lillian Barker; four daughters: Janet Reynolds, Barbara Reynolds, Becky Gallagher, Jane Barker; two sons: Buddy Reynolds, Robert William Barker; granddaughter, Carissa “CJ” Barker; grandson, Zachary Barker; and three brothers: Rolla Barker, Harold Barker and Robert Barker, Jr.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 5-8 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 9-11 AM.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 11 AM at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Sharon Hedrick officiating.
Interment will follow in the Redbud Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
