Richard Smith

Richard Smith of Potosi, Missouri was born on May 25, 1941, a son to the late John Smith and the late Virginia (Howell) Smith. On January 26, 1962, Richard was united in marriage to Hazel Campbell at the First Baptist Church in Irondale, Missouri and they shared fifty-six years together.

Richard passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at his residence having reached seventy-seven years of age. In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his grandson, Travis Smith; two sisters: Margaret Skiles-Mueller and Mary Jane Skiles; son-in-law, Darrell Coleman; and in-laws: Rev. William R. (Myrtle) Campbell, Art Campbell, Bob (Aurelia) Campbell, Shirley Hardin, Lindell Carter, and Dock Russell.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Hazel (Campbell) Smith; children: Terri (Tim) Wagoner and Ronnie (Kim) Smith; brother, John (Sharon) Smith; four grandchildren: Kyle Coleman and Tera, Dustin Snelson, Zechariah Smith, and Sasha Mays; three step-grandsons: Eric, Nick and Mark Wagoner; step-granddaughters: Becky Sandusky and Samantha Gaddy; in-laws: Gladys Carter, Thomas (Mildred) Campbell, Albert (Rita) Campbell, Loretta Russell, and Ilene Campbell.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 5-9 p.m. and Monday, July 16, from 9-10 a.m at the DeClue Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10 a.m. held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Guy Conway officiating.

Interment will be held at Hopewell Cemetery.
