Reuben Lawson

Reuben Lewis Lawson of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on January 23, 2013at the Country Meadows Nursing Home having reached the age of eighty five years, eight months and four days. He was born on May 19, 1927 in Washington County, Missouri a son to the late Joseph Lawson and Nora (Vance) Lawson.

In addition to his parents, Reuben was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Sue Lawson; son Rick Lawson; two brothers Nelson Lawson, Pat Lawson; six sisters Marcella Woods, Josephine Evans, Hester Woods, Ruby Winick, Ethel Morgan and Delores Woods.

Reuben served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked at the Heel Plant and Brown Shoe Company for many years. He owned his own plumbing business where he met and made many friends. He enjoyed watching westerns, spending time with family and being out in the community.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are a son Eddie Lawson and wife Belinda of Arcaidia; three daughters Pam Worley of Desloge; LaDonna Pinson and husband Leroy of Mineral Point; Karen Allen and husband Clyde of Potosi; four brothers Espin Lawson and wife Doris of Potosi; Earl Lawson of Cadet; Bud Lawson and wife Jane of Banner; Jim Lawson and wife Ilene of Desloge; two sisters Marie Skiles of Potosi; Mildred King of Potosi; ten grandchildren Michelle White, Dawn Lawson, Chris Lawson, Shannon Lawson, Greg Battreal and wife Angie, Courtney Allen, Kelsey Allen, Jennifer Pinson, Chasity Lawson, Derrick Lawson and wife Cherry; many great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11 AM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Gary Petty officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Ed Lawson, Clyde Allen, Leroy Pinson, Archie Winick, Greg Battreal, and Derrick Lawson.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens with full military honors presented by the United States Army and the Local VFW Post 6996. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
