Regina Brown

September 12, 1930 — May 16, 2017

Regina Ann Brown of Old Mines, Missouri, was born on September 12, 1930 a daughter to the late Noah Leo Bequette and the late Irene Julia (Pashia) Bequette. On April 1, 1950, Regina was united in marriage to Roy Lee Brown and there were eleven children born to this union.

Regina entered into eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 surrounded by her family at the St. Anthony’s Medical Center having reached the age of eighty six years, eight months and four days.

Regina will be missed by all who loved and knew her including her children: Dennis Brown of Farmington; Rita Mosier and husband Bruce of Potosi; Debbie Coleman and husband Mike of Old Mines; Marcia Lawson and husband Dennis of Cape Girardeau; Barry Brown and Janell Hill of Potosi; Michelle Schmidt and husband Drew of Farmington; Annette Rousan and husband Robert of Potosi; Anthony Brown of Old Mines; Margaret Ahern and husband Mike of St. Louis; Brian Brown and wife Julie of Old Mines; brother, Leo Bequette and wife Mary of Cedar Hill; sisters: Rita Hill and husband Harold of St. Louis; Ursula Hand and husband Wayne of St. Louis; Millie Connor of Ballwin; Maria Donnelly and husband Joe of St. Louis; sister-in-law, Nadine Bequette; brother-in-law, Pete Cole; also surviving are a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends whom she loved so much.

In addition to her parents, Regina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Brown; son, James Dale Brown; granddaughter, Vanessa Juliette; grandson, Michael Johnson; brothers: Tom and Gerald Bequette; sisters: Rosmary Cole and Joan Rasnic.

Regina embraced life and was passionate about being a wife, mother and grandmother. Living her Catholic faith was also very important to her. Her love for life was one of her greatest attributes. She loved to travel to different countries. She was also happy to do the simple things like hanging out at the creek on Sunday afternoons sipping on a Dr. Pepper. If an opportunity presented itself to go somewhere she would say, “Let me grab my purse”. Regina was a hard-working successful business owner for many years. Even after she retired, you would find her seated at a small table visiting with many customers. Regina lived her life with grace and never complained. When asked how where you able to do it all she responded, “You don’t think about it – you just do it”.

The family received friends at the DeClue Funeral Home on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 4 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines at 10 a.m. with Father Tony Dattilo officiating. Honoring Regina by serving as pallbearers were Tyler Juliette, Brad Juliette, Kaleb Juliette, Eric Coleman, Zach Coleman, Brenden Brown, Bobby Rousan, Matthew Rousan and Ryan Ahern.

Interment and Final Prayers were held at the St. Joachim Cemetery. DeClue Funeral Home was privileged to care for the funeral arrangements for Regina during this time of remembrance.
