Raymond Frederick Tillison of Potosi, Missouri, was born on May 5, 1934, in Oklahoma, a son of the late Frederick and Gladys (Reynolds) Tillison. Raymond passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023, having reached the age of 89.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his three daughters: Deanna Tillison, Terry (Lawrence) Newquist, and Lisa Tillison; six grandchildren: Kathryn (Galen) Velonis, Amanda Newquist, Abigail Newquist, Christopher Newquist, William Newquist, and Sarah Hays; great-grandchild: Casimir Velonis; siblings: Mitchell Tillison, Billie Turner, Patsy James, Bobby (Shelley) Tillison. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Ann Tillison; siblings: Hazel Gunderson, Mae Smith, Robert Carr, Mattie Shamel, Mary Shamel, Ralph Tillison, Virginia Tillison, and John Tillison.
Raymond was a 6th grade science teacher at the Potosi School District for many years, but he also loved studying family history. In his spare time, he also enjoyed going to auctions and finding good bargains, gardening, and reading. When it was baseball season, he always was watching the St Louis Cardinals.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 11 a.m. until his funeral service at 1 p.m., held at DeClue Funeral Home. Pastor Brian Kingston will officiate Raymond’s service. Interment and final prayers will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Potosi.
