Raymond Sansoucie

August 18, 1957 — October 14, 2010

Raymond Sylvester SanSoucie of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on October 14, 2010 at his residence having reached the age of fifty-three years, one month and twenty-six days. He was born on August 18, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri; a son to the late Sylvester SanSoucie and Joy (Dickerson) SanSoucie.

Raymond had many hobbies including fishing, camping, photography, and enjoyed collecting artifacts relating to his Indian heritage. He was a good cook and spent a lot of time in the kitchen, especially on holidays. He was a hard worker who was not afraid of rolling up his sleeves and getting a job done, no matter if it was at work, home or just helping out a friend. You could always count on him to be there to help. He loved animals and loved wearing cowboy hats and boots.

Raymond loved to have fun with his kids. He loved church and God and raised his kids to live morally. He loved helping others in need and had no problems doing without if it meant he could help someone else who was struggling. He loved conversation and didn’t care if he knew you or not. He would talk to you like he knew you his whole life and would treat you like a friend. Reminiscing about his childhood and the days he spent in the Navy were a couple of his favorite things to talk about with his family and friends.

He married Darla Emily and raised their 4 children. Those who remain to mourn his passing are three sons Joshua SanSoucie of Mineral Point, Jacob SanSoucie of Mineral Point, Caleb SanSoucie of Mineral Point; one daughter Wendy Trokey and husband Anthony Trokey of Springfield; four brothers Matt SanSoucie and wife Jeannie of Mineral Point; Nolan SanSoucie of Mineral Point; Daniel SanSoucie and wife Rosemary of Potosi; Tim SanSoucie and wife Robin of Arnold; Mary Willis and husband Robert of Farmington; Peggy Coffman and husband Charlie of Arnold; Rebecca Nosser and husband Roger of Springfield; Wanda Lynch and husband Trevor of Herculaneum; Cynthia Pearson and husband Willis of St. Louis; three grandchildren Connor Trokey, Hailey SanSoucie, Cooper Trokey; special friend Dianna Pierce; and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 2 P.M. at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Jim Wade officiating. Serving as pallbearers were his 3 sons Joshua, Jacob, and Caleb SanSoucie and 3 brothers Nolan, Daniel, and Matt SanSoucie.

Interment and final prayers were held at St. Joseph Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
