Ray Kniffin

October 3, 1917 — September 11, 2005

Ray Kniffin of Belgrade, Missouri departed this life on September 11, 2005 at his residence, having reached the age of 87 years, 11 months and 8 days. He was born on October 3, 1917 in Rosedale, Oklahoma, a son to the late Archie Wallace Kniffin and Georgia Mabel (Gipson) Kniffin.

Ray was a member of the American Legion. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He worked for many years as a chemical distributor for Britts Chemicals. He was truly a dear brother, uncle, and friend to many. He will be sadly missed but always remembered.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by four brothers, Merideth Kniffin, Leo Kniffin, Lamont Kniffin and Dean Kniffin and two sisters, Floye Wright and Mildred Henry.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife, Brenda Kniffin; son Tommy Ray Kniffin of Irondale; daughters Shanna McEntire and husband Matt of Ironton, and Portia Ives and husband Craig of Belgrade; sons Carl Brannum and wife Lola of Potosi, Paul Brannum of Belgrade and Marvin Brannum and wife April of Desloge; and daughter Lisa Logue and husband Darren of Hannible; his brother Glenn Kniffin of Montana; and four sisters, Jeanne Horton, Elwanda Whitten, Vivian Bennett and Evelyn Giebink, all of Arizona; fourteen grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at the Britton Chapel with the Rev. Harvey Buckley officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Carl Brannum, Paul Brannum, Marvin Brannum, Craig Ives, Darren Logue and Matt McEntire.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Hazel Creek Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
