Ray Bohannon

Ray Raymond Bohannon of Potosi departed this life at his residence on June 3, 2010 having reached the age of seventy three years, one month and two days. He was born at Shirley, MO, May 1, 1937 son to the late Everett Bohannon and Leona (Breakfield) Bohannon. He was united in marriage to Reva Callahan September 27, 1975 at Las Vegas, Nevada. They shared over thirty four years of marriage together. He was a loving devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Ray also known as ?Razor? had a great love for automobiles. His determination and drive to succeed showed in all that he did. From moving someone out of the way to win a motorcycle race, to putting long hours in to build a business (Bohannon Body Shop/Bohannon tire and Allignment). In his later years he enjoyed car shows, where he proudly showed his 1967 RS Chevy Camaro Convertible.

In retirement Ray enjoyed numerous activities traveling with Reva in their motor home, four wheeler riding with his many friends, his greatest joy came with following the great grandkids to football games, volleyball games, baseball games, dance competitions, track meets, grand parents days, plays and etc. Ray never missed an opportunity to show his love and pride for his family.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents. Those who remain to mourn his passing include his beloved wife Reva Bohannon of Potosi; three daughters Doris Knapp and husband Stanley of Potosi; Cathy Matthews of Ashland; Alica (Bohannon) Cochran of Kansas City; one son Derek Bohannon of Kansas City; nine grandchildren Stephanie Coleman and husband Rodney of Potosi; Angie Riddle and husband Shane of Potosi; Jarrod Knapp and wife Jamie of Potosi; Kim Politte and husband Bill of Ashland; Eric Knapp and wife Deanna of Cadet; Mark Matthews of Ashland; Dylan Cochran of Kansas City; Tasha Bohannon of Leadington; Tyler Bohannon of Elvins; fourteen great grandchildren Jacob, Blaine, Kennedy, Allie, Garrett, Riley, Emmy, Wyatt, Lexi, Logan, Skylar, Aijalon, Shaydyn, Rebecca and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

A funeral service was conducted on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 1 PM at the DeClue Family Chapel with Rev. Dwight Jones officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Rodney Coleman, Jarrod Knapp, Eric Knapp, Mark Mathews, Shane Riddle and Billy Politte.

Interment and final prayers were held at Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
