Raven Tom Smith of Potosi, Missouri, went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, June 2, 2019 having reached the age of seventy-four years, seven months and one day. Tom was born on November 1, 1944 in Paragould, Arkansas, a son of the late Richard Platt Smith and Velda Mae (Ezell) Smith. On October 2, 1965, Tom was united in marriage to Phyllis Joan Johnson and two children were born to this union.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Smith "Ms. Jo"; daughter, Angie Fryman and husband Gary; son, Ray Smith; three grandchildren: Olivia Fryman and Fiancé Michael Riley, Brittany Thomas and husband Darren and Timothy Ames; three siblings: Gerald Smith, Nancy Owens and husband James, Alan Smith; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Diana Mitchell and husband Charles, Henry Johnson and wife Geri, Charlotte Stinchcomb and husband LeRoy, Charles Eugene Johnson and wife Jana and Marc Swan; also surviving are nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by one sister, Pearly Lynch; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Henry A. and Lois M. Johnson; niece, Vicki Carter; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Johnny Nolin, Lorene Swan, Robert Johnson and Patti Johnson.
Visitation will be Monday, June 3, 2019 from 5-8 PM and Tuesday, June 4, from 10-11 AM at the DeClue Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 11 AM in the DeClue Chapel with Sister Geri Johnson officiating, assisted by Sister Sharon Glore.
Interment will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
