Percy Sloss

Percy L. Sloss, 85, of Cahokia, IL, born May 26, 1921 in Potosi, Missouri, passed away on January 3, 2007 at Belleville Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mr. Sloss was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran, a member of V.F.W. Post 1699 in Cahokia, IL, he retired from McDonnell Douglas, St. Louis, Missouri.

Preceded in death by his parents, Percy B. & Mae Melissa nee Thurmond, Sloss, three brothers, John, Alvin and Edward; one grandson, Cary Simmons; nieces; nephews and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Surviving are his wife, Norma B. (Politte) Sloss; five children, Jerry Sloss and wife Barb of Marilyn Heights, MO, Linda Miller and husband Tom of Cahokia, IL, Brenda Noe and husband Dwight of Fults, IL, Terry Sloss and wife Linda of Cahokia, IL, Gloria Yearian of Red Bud, IL; four sisters, Myrtle Duncan of Potosi, Oda Mae Shelton of Potosi, Norma Jean Cooper of Berkeley, Shirley Owens and husband Ira of Potosi; twelve grandchildren, Judy (Chris), Mike (Shelly), Rebecca (Rick), Leslie (Ron), Mike (Michelle), Derek (Tammy), Brad (Tiffany), Ronnie (Bobbie), Edward, Tiffany (Randy) Trevor, Terra; fifteen great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, January 6, 2007 1 PM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi with Mr. Carl Wilson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Derek Noe, Brad Noe, Trevor Yearin, Mike Simmons, Ronnie Knight and Randy Dillow.

Interment and final prayers were held at Souls Chapel Cemetery, Ebo, Missouri with arrangements entrusted to Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
