Percy O. Carl of Cape Girardeau , Missouri departed this life on June 7, 2012 at the NHC Healthcare having reached the age of ninety years, seven months and fifteen days. He was born on October 23, 1921 in Courtois, Missouri a son to the late Odes Carl and Sallie (Wood) Carl.
On November 7, 1975, Percy was united in marriage to Betty (Treadwell) Morgan and they shared thirty six years together.
Percy worked for the Forest Service for thirty five years and was a past member of the Potosi Lions Club. He was an avid bowler. Percy worked as a young man with his father. He loved wood working. He loved flowers and had many roses of his own. Percy appreciated the beauty of nature and trees.
In addition to his parents, Percy was preceded in death by his first wife, the mother of his sons, Lydia (Crocker) Carl; two sisters Gladys Gibson, Melba Carl; two brothers Kelsey Carl, Orla Carl and a granddaughter Lydia Carl Cash.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Betty Carl of Cape Girardeau; two sons Ken Carl and wife Joyce of Potosi; Don Carl of Evansville, IN; step daughter Faith Crutsinger and husband Larry of Oak Ridge, MO; step son Homer Morgan, Jr. and wife Sue of Elgin, South Carolina; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 10 AM at the DeClue Chapel with Joshua Morgan officiating.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
