Peggy Alma Jean Tipton of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on October 9, 2005 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home, having reached the age of 71 years and 22 days. She was born at Richwoods, Missouri on September 17, 1934, a daughter of the late Roy A. Benton and Froney (Tinker) Benton.
Alma Jean, as she was known to family and friends, was married to Vanduren Tipton, who preceded her in death. She was a beloved mother, wife, sister and friend. Her kind spirit and loving heart will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, LeRoy Benton, James Benton, Roy Gerald (Jerry) Benton and John Benton; and her sisters Patsy Ann Bates and Mary Benton.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing from this life are her son, Doug Frazier of Belgrade; and her half sisters, Rita Benton of Lemay, and Theresa Rubach and husband Gary of Blackwell, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 AM on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at the Britton Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Compton officiating. Honoring Alma Jean as pallbearers were Michael Bates, James Bates, David Pruitt, Jarvis Kimbrough, James Kimbrough and Donald Kimbrough.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery in Caledonia, Missouri. All arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
