Peggy Smith

Peggy Joyce Smith of Mineral Point, Missouri, was born on December 26, 1932, a daughter of the late Elwell Otis White and the late Ora Christine (Warman) White. Peggy departed this life on Friday, October 28, 2016 at the St. James Living Center in St. James, Missouri, having reached the age of eighty three years, ten months and sixteen days.

On July 25, 1953, Peggy was united in marriage to Ralph Edward Smith, Sr. and they shared forty five years together.

Survivors include her son, Ralph Smith Jr. and wife Sherri of Denton, Texas; three daughters Shelia Smith-Ramirez of San Antonio, Texas; Theresa Vaughn of St. James, Missouri; Lori Smith of St. Louis, Missouri; eight siblings Tommy White of Cleveland, TN; Doug White of Hawaii; Rudy White Topeka, KS; James Redden of Punta Gorda, FL; Jerry White of Cleveland, TN; Sharon Grace of Nashville, TN; Sarah Bradshaw of North Dakota; Sharon Nolan of Caruthersville, Missouri; nine grandchildren Elizabeth Garcia, Darrell Dontrich, Greg Dontrich, Danny Dontrich, Jordan Farley, Jonathan Farley, Adam Smith, Heather Gray and Tiffany Renfrew; In-Laws Winnie McMahan and June and Don Dickinson; also surviving are great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her Beloved husband, Ralph Smith Sr.; granddaughter Emily Garcia; three brothers Otis White Jr., Larry White, Wilkie White and one sister Julia Robertson.

Visitation was held on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 8:30 AM until 10:00 AM at the DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, Mo. 63664.

A Funeral Service was conducted Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Bro. Bob Marler officiating. Interment and final prayers will be held at the Hopewell Cemetery.

DeClue Funeral Home was privileged to care for the funeral arrangements of Peggy during this time of remembrance.
