Paulette Jarvis

Paulette Ann Jarvis, of Cadet, Missouri, departed this life on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson, having reached the age of 77 years, 8 months, and 26 days. Paulette was born on December 18, 1946 at her family’s home in Washington County, Missouri. She was a daughter of the late Nelson Sylvester Courtway and the late Mary Bernette Courtway. Paulette attended St. Joachim Catholic School, where she graduated from in 1960. Paulette was united in marriage to Norman "Ted" Jarvis on September 28, 1979, and they shared 45 years together.


Those who remain to treasure her memory include her beloved husband, Norman “Ted” Jarvis; her nine children: Julie (Harold) Fortner, Shane (Samantha Ray) Jarvis, Jerry (Kathy) Jarvis, Jason Jarvis, Teddi (Phillip) Comer, Deanna Agnew, George (Tina) Whitworth, Cory Jarvis, and Heath Jarvis; and two siblings: Sharon Bequette and Aaron (Christine) Courtway. Paulette also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored; as well as many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and cousins.


In addition to Paulette’s parents, she was also preceded in death by five siblings: Danny Courtway, Elmer Courtway, Shelby Courtway, Rosemary Boyer, Charlene Drennen; and many other dear relatives.


Paulette loved her family, especially her grandchildren with all of her heart. She loved Christmas and gift giving. When one Christmas ended, she immediately began shopping for the next Christmas. Paulette was crafty, from making flowers to Christmas ornaments to photo albums. She was known as a "collector of memories". She cherished every memory and photo taken. Paulette was typically always behind the camera capturing moments that her family will forever cherish. Through the years, she enjoyed attending many Washington County Coon Club events with her husband, Ted. Paulette was passionate about organizing events and fundraisers for both Shriners and St. Jude's Children's Hospitals. In addition, Paulette enjoyed her puppy dogs; Fred, Toto, Fancy, and Sauby. Paulette was described as strong, loving, caring, generous and sassy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials, if desired, may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.


A time of visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 4:30 pm until the time of her Funeral Service at 7 pm, held at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, MO 63664. DeClue Funeral Home was honored to have served the family of Mrs. Paulette Jarvis.
