Paul Jimmie Harris

Paul Jimmie Harris, known to many as Jim, passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on Sunday, March 23, 2025. He was born on July 6, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late John and Effie (Moore) Harris.

Jim dedicated much of his life to his work as a truck driver, a profession he enjoyed for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and carried a deep sense of patriotism throughout his life. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for hunting and fishing, where he found both joy and peace. Jim was also an avid gun enthusiast and cherished the moments spent with his loyal dog, Candy, who was a constant companion.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Lavern Harris, and his children Denise Eye (husband, Roger) and Amanda Wood (husband, Alan). He leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren, including Michael Fitzwater, Alyssa Green, Megan Holmes, Cody Whitley, Nikki Gilmore, Ricky Lee Turntine, Timmy DeClue, Brent DeClue, Corey Whitley, Nate Burke, and Adam Burke, as well as numerous great-grandchildren. Jim is also survived by his sister, Linda Burke (husband, John), and many extended family members who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved children, Tim and Shane Fitzwater.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Services will be held at DeClue Funeral Home 301 E. High Street Potosi, MO 63664. Internment and final prayers will follow at New Diggins Cemetery.
