Paul Fortner

Paul Kevin Fortner of Bismarck, Missouri, was born on January 17, 1960, in Bonne Terre, MO, a son of the late Earmel Fortner and Louise (Hart) Fortner. Paul passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022, having reached the age of sixty-two years, three months, and twenty-six days.

Those who remain to cherish his memory include children: Angie Eckhoff and Ace, Aaron Fortner and Stacia, Justin Fortner, Andy Fortner, and Tyson Fortner; grandchildren: Levi, Bryce, Hailey Anne, Cameron, Drew, Devin, McKinzie, Blakleigh, Brayden, Mason, Elijah, and Waylon; former wife of 38 years and the mother of his children, Mary Fortner; siblings: Tom Fortner (wife, Paula), Brian Fortner (wife, Loretta), Dale Fortner, Shelly Drake (husband, Jim); special nephews: Kevin and Kayla Fortner, and Troy Fortner. Paul is also survived by other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his children: Amanda Fortner and Nathan Fortner; brothers, Charles and Terry Fortner; and niece, Stephanie Fortner.

Paul was the owner and operator of Fortner Roofing for many years. He loved deer hunting, camping at clear water, BBQ’s gardening, and working on cars. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and will be missed!

A visitation will be Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 11 am to 1 pm at DeClue Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 1 pm with Pastor Dwight Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Big River Cemetery in Irondale, Missouri.
