Pastor Philip Wade

Pastor Philip Chatman Wade was born on November 3, 1923 in Sullivan, Missouri, a son to the late Robert Wade and the late Irene (Anderson) Wade. Pastor Philip went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 10, 2016 having reached the age of ninety three years and seven days.

On January 3, 1948, Philip was united in marriage to the love of his life, Violet Fann and they shared nearly sixty nine years together. To this union three sons were born.

Philip is survived by his loving and devoted wife Violet (Fann) Wade of Hopewell; two sons Pastor Jim Wade and wife Diane of Hopewell and Pastor Rick Wade and wife Betty of Desloge; sister-in-law Eileen Wade of Hopewell; ten grandchildren Amanda Wade, Jimmy Wade and wife Karen, Jennifer Sampson and husband Brad, Eric Wade II, Andria Wade, Brandon Thomlinson and wife Ashley, Brandi Perkins and husband Luke, Philip Mark Wade Jr. and wife Carrie, Kacy Gleeson and husband Billy and Megan Wade; also surviving are great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends who will miss him.

In addition to his parents, Philip was preceded in death by his son Mark Wade; two brothers Floyd and Robert Wade; six sisters Frances Marler, Ruby Wade, Nora Politte, Gertie Wade, Fern Wade and Leatha Bowles.

Visitation was held on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, MO. 63664.

A Homegoing Service was held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Hopewell Church of God with Pastors Jim and Rick Wade officiating.

Interment and final prayers will be held at the Hopewell Cemetery. Honoring Philip by serving as pallbearers were Eric Wade, P.J. Wade, Jimmy Wade, Sheldon Marler, D.J. Portell and Brad Sampson. DeClue Funeral Home was privileged to care for the funeral arrangements of Pastor Philip during this time of remembrance.
