Oscar Banks

Oscar Leo Banks of Valley Park, Missouri departed this life on November 8, 2013 at Mercy Hospital having reached the age of eighty eight years, twenty six days. He was born on October 13, 1925 a son to the late Elmer Banks and Emma (Burks) Banks.
In addition to his parents, Oscar was preceded in death by his wife Alice Banks, brother Carl "Buck" Banks, four sisters Leah Gibson, Margaret Blackburn, Eula Moore and Edna William.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are three sons Randall Banks and wife Joanie of Ironton, Wayne Banks and wife Dee of Cedar Hill, Frank Banks and wife Pauline of Springfield, Illinois; four daughters Louise Thomlinson and husband Dave of Gerald, Norma Witeka and husband Mark of Arnold, Debbie Stevens and husband Bruce of Louisiana, Ruth Reece and husband JR of Valley Park; brother Leroy Banks and wife Rose of Fenton; fifteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 1 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. James Strube officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Greg Reece, Mark Thomlinson, Thomas Thomlinson, Kevin Johnson, James Rector and David Stevens.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
