Orville Masson Turner of Richwoods, Missouri was born on October 28, 1937, a son to the late Arthur Turner and the late Hazel (Vest) Turner. Orville entered eternal rest on July 9, 2019 at the Georgian Gardens Nursing Home having reached eighty-one years of age. In addition to his parents, Orville is preceded in death by his sister, Connie Turner and nephew, Lee Turner.
Survivors include three siblings: Linda (Danny) Crews, LeRoy (Josie) Turner, and Joan Turner; nieces and nephews: Terri (Martin) Thiessen, Tim Lewis and friend Tracy, Tracie (Chris) Short, Michelle (Kurt) Emily, and Damaris Turner; and many dear great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Orville worked for thirty years at National Lead which is now known as Cimbar where he retired. He proudly served the United States Army from March 18, 1958 to March 17, 1960. Orville loved spending time with his family and friends, laughing and having a good time. He enjoyed traveling and always forward to vacationing out West. Orville could quickly put miles on a car. Orville loved Westerns. He liked listening to bluegrass music and enjoyed one of his favorite singers, Rhonda Vincent. Orville was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at DeClue Funeral Home from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, July 13, 2019, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
A funeral service to honor Orville will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Bro. Perry Vance officiating. Interment will be held at Horine Cemetery where Orville will receive full military honors presented by the United States Army and VFW Post 6996.
