Olen Gibson

Olen Cirvel Gibson of Steelville, Missouri departed this life on January 13, 2010 at his residence having reached the age of eighty four years and twenty four days. He was born on December 20, 1925 at Desloge, Missouri a son to the late Alfred Gibson and Laura (Owens) Gibson.

In addition to his parents, Olen was preceded in death by his wife Delores Gibson; three sisters Ida Combs, Lilly Benson, Laurie Robinette; two brothers Leroy Gibson and Leon Gibson.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are four daughters Tina Maize of Viburnum, Tammy Maize and husband Rick of Kansas City, Kansas; Tracy Corwin and husband Jim of Lamonte; Kim Maize and husband Marty of Steelville; son David Gibson of Viburnum; four brothers Donald Gibson of Farmington, Alvin Gibson of Potosi, Melvin Gibson of Bonne Terre, Paul Politte and Marilyn of Potosi; two sisters Dee Kitchell and husband Vernon of Mineral Point; Marilyn Skaggs and husband Keeter of Potosi; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11 AM at the DeClue Family Chapel with Sharon Hedrick officiating. Serving as pallbearers were William Maize, Davey Gibson, Daniel Maize, Andy Gibson, Patrick Maize and Dusty Maize. Honorary pallbearer Hunter Corwin.

Interment and final prayers were held at Czar Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
