Norray Blair

February 4, 1945 — April 28, 2015

Norray Blair of Potosi, Missouri passed away on April 28, 2015 having reached the age of seventy years, two months, and twenty four days. He was born on February 4, 1945 a son to the late Arlie and Irene (Gilliam) Blair. This June would have marked his 50th wedding anniversary to Joan (Morgan) Blair. Norray’s only grandchildren, Dyllan and Lacey, were born on the same day just a few hours apart in 1994. Besides working at the mines all his life, he was a hunter. He thoroughly enjoyed deer hunting, turkey hunting, and in his earlier years loved to coon hunt, rabbit hunt, and squirrel hunt. Norray was a lifelong member of the Elks Club and pitched softball for many years for their team and other teams as well. Those who remain to mourn his passing are his beloved wife Joan Blair of Potosi, Missouri; son Ed Blair and wife Tammy of Potosi, Missouri; daughter Angie Blair and Jeff of Potosi, Missouri; three brothers: Norman Blair and wife LaVera of Shirley, Missouri, Gary Blair and wife Barb of Shirley, Missouri, and Dave Blair and wife Mary Jo of Potosi, Missouri; four sisters: Peggy Kesselring and husband Joe of Shirley, Missouri, Pat Portell and husband Joe of Shirley, Missouri, Rita Stephens and husband Frank of Caledonia, Missouri, and Polly Brombaugh and Larry of St. Louis, Missouri; sister-in-law Patsy Blair; two grandchildren: Lacey (Blair) Juliette and Dyllan Kathcart; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, Norray is preceded in death by his sister Robin Blair; brother Dorman Blair; nephews: Ronnie Blair, Robert Blair, Danny Kesselring, and baby Jason Blair; and sister-in-law JoAnn Blair. A memorial visitation for Norray will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 7:00 PM in the DeClue Memorial Chapel on Saturday evening with Rev. Dwight Petete officiating. All arrangements have been cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
