Norman E. Robinson

October 5, 1944 — December 23, 2024

Norman E. Robinson Jr., born on October 5, 1944, to the late Norman E. Robinson Sr. and Alta Mae (Hopkins) Moore, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024 at the age of 80. He was a beloved member of his community, known for his vibrant personality, keen sense of humor, and entrepreneurial spirit.

An alumni of Ritenour High School, Class of 1962, Norman made his mark as the quarterback, wearing jersey #17. He continued his education at the University of Missouri, graduating in 1967 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Accounting. Norman's academic journey laid a strong foundation for his professional achievements.

Norman began his career as a menswear retail buyer for major department stores. In the mid-1980s, he relocated to Viburnum, Missouri, where he established his own company, Robinson Tax and Accounting. His contributions to the local community did not end there; he was also a past owner of the Viburnum Inn and Restaurant and managed the Viburnum Country Club Restaurant. Norman's unwavering work ethic and commitment to customer service left a lasting impression on all who patronized his establishments.

Outside of his career, Norman was a passionate sports fan, particularly devoted to baseball and football. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to his farm and cattle. In addition, Norman loved visiting Bass Pro Shops. Norman often cherished his stays at Big Cedar Lodge and had an enduring love for classic rock and roll music, highlighted by his recent attendance at a Rolling Stones concert. His ability to find joy in life's simple pleasures and share laughter with those around him exemplified his approach to life.

Norman is survived by his four daughters: Amy Vandevender and her husband, Josh; Rachel McArdle and her husband, Michael; Josephine Swaringim and her husband, Greg; and Taylor Miller and her husband, Sam. He will also be remembered by his eight cherished grandchildren: Brittan Thomas, Jordan Soaib, London Bielicke, Silas Swaringim, Averie Swaringim, Monroe Miller, Carter Miller, and Lincoln Miller, along with his two great-grandchildren, Piper and Paxton. Norman leaves behind a wide circle of dear friends who will remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Norman E. Robinson; his mother, Alta Mae Moore; and his stepfather, John L. Moore, along with many aunts, uncles, and extended family members.
