Norma Jean Yount

Norma Jean Yount of Potosi, Missouri, commonly known by family and friends as Jean, was born on May 29, 1932 in Potosi, a daughter to the late Isaac Benson and the late Effie Mae (Haggard) Benson. On December 5, 1947, Jean was united in marriage to Harold Ross Yount and they shared fifty-six years together. To this union, God blessed Jean and Harold with two children, Rick and Patty.

Jean went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at her current residence in Dallas, Texas, having reached the age of eighty-seven years, five months and nine days.

Jean will be missed by all who loved and knew her including her son, Rick Yount and wife Mary; daughter, Patty Smuland and husband Ken; two granddaughters: Gena Sitton and husband Shannon, and Leslie Collier and husband Ryan; six great-grandchildren: Collin Sitton, Blair Sitton, Millie Collier, Boone Collier, Tessa Collier, and Henry "Hank" Collier; one brother, Ernie Benson and wife Sharon; four sisters: Betty Link, Jerry Holmes, Linda Miner and husband Clarence, and Joyce Wilkerson.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday,November 16, 2019 at 11 AM held at the Potosi Southern Baptist Church with Rev. H. Wayne Isgriggs officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to: World Vision P.0. Box 9716, Federal Way, WA 98063. Envelopes will be available at the service.

A private interment will follow at Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, MO. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
