Norma Jane Wilkerson

December 31, 1969 — February 4, 2016

Norma Jane Wilkerson of Potosi, Missouri, closed her beautiful eyes and opened them to the beauty of heaven, uniting with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her precious son Johnnie on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Mercy Hospital, St. Louis, having reached the age of seventy nine years, nine months and twenty one days. She was born on April 14, 1936 in Shirley, Missouri, a daughter to the late John Eye and Sarah Jane Kathcart Eye.

Norma Jane accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at a very early age. She was a faithful member of Potosi First Baptist Church. On August 14, 1953, Norma Jane was united in marriage to John A. “Jack” Wilkerson and they shared sixty two years together. There were six children born to this union.

Norma Jane is survived by her loving and devoted husband Jack Wilkerson of Potosi; five daughters Sylvia Rowe and husband Alan of Potosi, Sandy Fitzwater and husband Paul of Potosi, Jacklyn Shields and husband Matt of Owasso, Oklahoma, Mary Lou Brabham and husband Bart of Jenks, Oklahoma, Carolyn Melton and husband Jeff of Potosi; three brothers Sammy Eye and wife Sara of Potosi, Wendell Eye and wife Janice of Potosi, Michael Eye of Potosi; one sister Grace Vaughn of Virginia; twenty grandchildren Nathan Rowe and wife Jaclynn, Carrie Missey and husband Matt, Jesse Rowe and wife Ericka, Phoebe Davis and husband Kyle, Phillip Fitzwater and wife Jessica, Katherine Cullins and husband Roger, Kelsey Fitzwater, Ethan Shields and wife Emily, Emily Ann Shields, Madeline Shields, Josh Brabham, Luke Brabham, John Wyatt Brabham, Ashley James and husband Cody, Joshua Melton, Elizabeth Hoffmann, Grace Hoffmann, Hannah Hoffmann, Emma Hoffmann and Jackson Melton; sixteen great grandchildren; brother-in-law Rev. Melvin Reed; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, Norma Jane was preceded in death by her son Johnnie, four brothers Sloman Eye and wife Ethel, Oval Eye and wife Opal, Elzie Eye, Donald Eye and wife Violet; three sisters Doris Fenstermaker and husband George, Lelia Kendall and husband Harry, Mildred Reed; two sisters-in-law Darlene Eye and Bonnie Eye.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 4:30 till 8:00 pm at the DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 12 noon till 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church, 10479 State Highway P, Potosi, Missouri 63664.

Funeral services for Norma Jane will be conducted Sunday, February 7, at 2 pm held at the First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Caring Hearts Pregnancy Resource Center or the Potosi First Baptist Church. For further information regarding memorials, please contact the DeClue Funeral Home office.

Interment and Final prayers will be held at the White Oak Grove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
