Neva Walton

Neva June Walton of Potosi, Missouri passed away on September 24, 2015 having reached the age of eighty three years, four months, and nineteen days. She was born on May 5, 1932 in Belgrade, Missouri, a daughter to the late Preston and Nola Aline (Phelps) Belfield.

On January 19, 1948 in Potosi, Missouri, Neva was united in marriage to Donald B. Walton and three children were born unto this union. She was a member of the Potosi United Methodist Church for over sixty years. Neva was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and dear friend.

Neva is survived by her two sons: Randy Walton and wife Robyn and Steve Walton - both of Potosi, Missouri; daughter Linda Runnels and husband Larry of Mineral Point, Missouri; two brothers: Terry Belfield and wife Joyce of Ste Genevieve, Missouri and Bill Belfield of Amarillo, Texas; four sisters: Dorothy Mapes of Farmington, Missouri, Carol Gentry of Bloomsdale, Missouri, Janet Compton and husband Dave of Leadwood, Missouri, and Joy Hoover and husband Frank of Bloomsdale, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Brad Harbison and wife Kim of North Carolina, Derrick Harbison and wife Chris of St. Clair, Missouri, Ryan Harbison and wife Denise of Potosi, Missouri, Melanie Elliott and husband Randy of Potosi, Missouri, Randall Walton and wife Veronica of Kansas City, Missouri, Chad Walton of Potosi, Jessica Laurentius and husband Ronnie of Farmington, Missouri, and Toni Kozemski and husband Dean; eighteen great grandchildren: Morgan Elliott, Haley Elliott, Courtney Elliott, Grayson Walton, Garin Walton, Garrett Harbison, Alex Kopp, Elizabeth Kopp, Jeffery Harbison, Mary Lynn Harbison, Devon Harbison, Elijah Allen, Jasmine Laurentius, Mackenzie Laurentius, Kyla Laurentius, Kaden Laurentius, Ryder Kozemski, and Chase Kozemski; and three great-great grandchildren: Slaytor, Lily, and Preston Bishop. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members who will sadly miss her.

In addition to her parents, Neva is preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald Walton; daughter-in-law Dorcas Walton, and granddaughter Michelle June Walton.

Visitation for Neva was held at the DeClue Funeral Home on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A second visitation was held on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the DeClue Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of service. Funeral services for Neva began at 1:00 PM in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bob Bullock officiating.

Honoring Neva by serving as her pallbearers were Chad Walton, Randall Walton, Derrick Harbison, Brad Harbison, Randy Elliott, and Ryan Harbison.

Interment and final prayers will be held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens Cemetery following the service. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
