Myrtle Mobley

Myrtle Evelyn Mobley of Florissant, Missouri departed this life on July 18, 2011 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center having reached the age of seventy seven years, four months and fourteen days. She was born on March 4, 1934 at Potosi, Missouri a daughter to the late Judson Smith and Mary (Conway) Smith.

Myrl loved her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress and gardener.

In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband Paul Mobley, two brothers Paul Smith and Bill Smith, two sisters Pauline Copp and Dolly Conway.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are her two daughters Debra (Phillip) Rahn of Ballwin; Karen Chitwood of O’Fallon; son James Chitwood of Kansas; four sisters Halle (John) Leon of O’Fallon, Blanche Owens of Jefferson City, Zoa Thompson of St. Peters, Leona Smith of Pacific; eight grandchildren Shawn (Chris) Pupillo, Joshua O’Keefe, Kelsey O’Keefe, Matthew Dyke, Nathan (Maegan) Dyke, Jacob Dyke, Thomas Chitwood, Jonathan Chitwood; two great grandchildren Nicholas O’Keefe, Chloe Dyke; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 1 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Carl Wilson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Phillip Rahn, Matthew Dyke, Jacob Dyke, Nathan Dyke, Chris Pupillo and Jim Chitwood.

Interment and final prayers were held at the New Masonic Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
