Mildred Skaggs

November 11, 1925 — October 3, 2007

Mildred Marie Skaggs of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on October 3, 2007 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, having reached the age of eighty-one years, ten months and twenty-two days. She was born at Greely, Missouri on November 11, 1925, a daughter of the late Tom Dobbs and Elsie Brooks Dobbs.

She was married to Paul Barton in February, 1946 and he preceded her in death in November, 1986. She was married to Glenwood Skaggs on December 1, 1995 at Mineral Point, Missouri.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Reva Jean Trolinger and a brother, Merle Dobbs.

Mildred was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her husband, Glenwood Skaggs of Mineral Point; two sons, Roger Barton and wife, Paulette of St. Charles, Roland Barton of Desloge; two step-children, Midge Pyatt and husband, Danny of Mineral Point, Roger Skaggs and wife, Debby of Farmington; two brothers, Marvin Dobbs and wife Reatha of Potosi, Bill Dobbs of Festus; two sisters, Patty Meyer and husband Bob of St. Louis, Wiladean Pryor of Branson; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, October 7, 2007 at 2 PM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Roger Taber officiating.

All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
