Mildred Joyce King of Potosi, Missouri was born on February 14, 1933 in Washington County, a daughter to the late Joseph B. Lawson and the late Nora (Vance) Lawson. On December 12, 1963, Mildred was united in marriage to Charles M. King, Sr. and together they had two sons.
On Sunday, October 1, 2017, Mildred entered into eternal rest at the NHC Healthcare Center having reached the age of eighty-four years, seven months, and seventeen days.
Mildred will be missed by all who knew and loved her including her two sons: Charles King, Jr. and wife Deborah, and Troy King; two brothers: Rev. Joseph “Bud” Lawson and wife Jane, and Jim Lawson and wife Ailene; step-granddaughter, Jessica; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles King, Sr.; brothers: Nelson, Pat, Rueben Lenis, Espin, John, Clifford, Earl, Rueben, and Sam Lawson; and sisters: Lucy Sansegraw, Marcella Woods, Joshephine Evans, Hester Woods, Ruby Winick, Ethel Morgan, Delores Woods, Ann Parmley, and Marie Skiles.
Visitation for Mildred was held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation resumed on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, beginning at 9:00 AM.
A funeral service to honor Mildred began at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joseph “Bud” Lawson officiating assisted by Elder Leonard Compton.
Honoring Mildred by serving as her pallbearers were Terry Lawson, David Woods, David Cronk, Steven Lawson, and Ryan Woods.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Furnace Creek Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
