Melissa Stevens

Melissa Louise Stevens of Doe Run, Missouri, was born on January 10, 1968 in St Charles, Missouri, a daughter of Vernon Horton, and the late Sandy (Santhuff) Horton. Melissa passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, having reached the age of 55.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her father, Vernon Horton; son: Lehman Stevens and Terry Parker; six grandchildren: Terralouise, Parker, Brayden, Aaryk, Bert, Isabeau; siblings: Nick Wesa and Allison Koray. Also surviving are extended family and many friends.

In addition to her mother, Melissa was preceded in death by her husband, Derel Stevens.

Melissa was very family oriented—she loved drinking coffee and visiting with them. She enjoyed spending time with her son and grandkids. Melissa was married to the love of her life, Derel Stevens, before he passed away in 2009. Melissa was an animal lover through the years and had taken care of a variety of animals.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 1 pm, held at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Potosi.
