Matthew Brian Reary of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on October 28, 2012 at the age of thirty three years, eleven months and six days. He was born on November 22, 1978 in St. Louis, Missouri a son to James D. Reary and Harriet Smith.
Matthew was preceded in death by grandparents James Pearl Reary, Lora Burns Scott, Freddie Smith, Jr. and a brother James Robert Reary.
On October 7, 2003, Matthew was united in marriage to Heather Parmley and they shared nine years together.
Matthew served in the United States Army serving two tours in Iraq from 2002 – 2006. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal (2nd Award), Valorous Unit Awards, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award) and Combat Action Badge.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Heather Reary of Potosi; father James Reary and wife Kathy of Pacific; mother Harriet Collier of Potosi; grandmother Verla Mahurin of Potosi; two sons Carson Reary of Potosi, Weston Reary of Potosi; four brothers Joshua Cantrell and wife Kiley of Windsor, Missouri; Larry Drennen and wife Kristin of Union; Gary Drennen and wife Rebbeca of Grey Summit, Missouri; Shorty Drennen and wife Jenny of Farmington; two sisters Lora Christin Reary of Irondale; Kim Smith of Iron Mt. Lake; father and mother in law Hurshel and Debbie Parmley; brother in law Jonathan Parmley and wife Emily; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 1 PM at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Haguewood and Rev. Jim Ainley officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Cody Walton, Jake Barnes, Dustin Vice, Jeff Timpe, Jon Cole and Joshua Cantrell.
Interment and final prayers were held at the High Point Cemetery where Full Military Honors was presented by the United States Army and Local VFW Post #6996. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
