Mary Wertz

Mary Barbara Wertz of Park Hills, Missouri departed this life on December 6, 2006 at Potosi Manor Nursing Home, having reached the age of 79 years, 11 months and 20 days. She was born on December 16, 1926 at Higginsville, Missouri, a daughter of the late Edward Lee Highley and Maude Elizabeth (Hagan) Highley.
On October 15, 1945 she was united in marriage to Jess Aubrey Wertz in Topeka, Kansas. Jess preceded her in death on April 18, 2003. They shared 57 and ? years of marriage together. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by a son, Aubrey Lee Wertz.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include a daughter, Amy Rodgers and husband Robert of Park Hills; her step mother, Marie Highley of Bismarck; a daughter-in-law, Ann Wertz of Potosi; a sister, Ann Dougherty of St. Clair; a grandson, Robert Rodgers, Jr.; nieces; nephews; cousins and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were conducted on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 11 AM at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery, Caledonia, Missouri with Rev. Jacob Pollard officiating.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery, Caledonia, Missouri. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
