Mary Skiles

Mary Marie Skiles of Cadet, Missouri departed this life on March 12, 2014 at her residence having reached the age of eighty two years, five, months and twenty days. She was born on September 20, 1931 in Caledonia, Missouri a daughter to the late Nelson Lawson and Nora (Vance) Lawson.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband Sterling Skiles, Jr., one son Dennis Skiles, one daughter Carolyn Politte, six brothers Nelson Lawson, Pat Lawson, Rueben Lawson, Espin Lawson, John Lawson, Clifford Lawson, eight sisters Lucy Sansegraw, Marcella Woods, Josephine Evans, Hester Woods, Ruby Winick, Ethel Morgan, Delores Woods, Susan Parmley and one great granddaughter Ashely Dawn Emily.
Marie was raised in a big family and had a big family herself. She worked hard to raise her family and she raised her children to have respect for each other and other people. She loved going to church and praising God. She was considered to be grandma to a lot of kids at church. She loved her pastor Bob and Ginger Thurman.
Marie is now in heaven with her family and friends. It is probably very noisy with her up there now. She was a very loving and caring woman. She was respected by many and was ready to help if she was needed. She will be missed by many and remembered by all whose path she has crossed. She is now in heaven with her loved ones. God has received a special angel in heaven.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are two sons Arthur Skiles and wife Carolyn of Cadet, James Skiles and wife Mary of Potosi; two daughters Barbara Null and husband Mel of Cadet, Shelba Benson and husband Lonnie of Kirkwood; three brothers Earl Lawson of Cadet, Bud Lawson and wife Jane of Bellview, Jim Lawson and wife Ilene of Desloge; one sister Mildred King and her son Troy of Potosi; one sister in law Doris Lawson of Potosi; grandchildren Denise Marie Eckhoff and husband Larry, Brandy Jo Jones and husband Lance, Brian Benson and wife Trisha, Lonnie Benson, II, Jason Wayne Politte, Denise Dornbach and husband Adam, Dennis Emily and wife Kelsey, April Henderson and husband Jonny, Christine Cash and husband Tom, Johnny Kilcullen and wife Stephanie; many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11 AM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Bob Thurman officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Adam Dornbach, Daniel Williams, Tom Cash, Brian Benson, Butch Nelson and Lance Jones.
Interment and final prayers were held at the New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home
