Mary Jane Skiles of Mineral Point, Missouri passed away on September 19, 2015 at the Mercy Hospital having reached the age of seventy seven years, eight months, and three days. She was born on January 16, 1938, a daughter to the late John and Virginia (Howell) Smith.
On June 15, 1956, Mary Jane was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Clarence Edward Skiles. Together they shared fifty nine years of marriage.
Mary Jane is survived by her beloved husband Clarence Edward Skiles of Mineral Point, Missouri; three sons: David Skiles and Anita Portell of Potosi, Missouri, John Skiles and wife Joy of Mineral Point, Missouri, and Frank Skiles and wife Lynn of Cadet, Missouri; daughter Ruthie Skiles and Thomas of Potosi, Missouri; two brothers: Richard Smith and wife Hazel and Johnny Smith and wife Sharon - both of Potosi, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Tucker and husband Kris, Frankie Skiles and wife Lisa, Bryan Benson and wife Melissa, Nathaniel Skiles and wife Sandra, Mary Ellen Lawson and husband Doug, Michael Skiles, Justin Ross and Jeannie Wisdom; ten great-grandchildren: Alyson, Jayden, Tucker, Connor, Fletcher, Trinity, Doug, Madelynn, William, and Lily; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her sister Margaret Skiles-Mueller and grandson Dustin Skiles.
Visitation for Mary Jane was held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 4:30 - 8:00 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home and resumed on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Funeral services for Mary Jane will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jim Ainley officiating.
Honoring Mary by serving as her pallbearers were Frankie Skiles, Nathaniel Skiles, Michael Skiles, Doug Lawson, Bryan Benson, Kris Tucker, Justin Ross, and Allen Smith.
Interment and final prayers will be held at the Hopewell Cemetery. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
