Mary Nickelson

April 19, 1921 — May 30, 2009

Mary Francis Nickelson of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on May 30, 2009 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home having reached the age of eighty eight years one month and eleven days. She was born on April 19, 1921 at St. Louis, Missouri a daughter to the late Rolla Huckstep and Jessie Nicholson Huckstep.

On February 7, 1942, Mary was united in marriage to Robert H. Nickelson in Ironton, Missouri. Four children were born to this union. She was united with the Pleasant Hill Christian Church, but was a member of the Potosi United Methodist Church at her death.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a daughter Carol Sue Nickelson; a sister Betty Portell; a brother in law Edgar T. Portell; father in law Andrew Nickelson; mother in law Florence Nickelson; a dear friend Mrs. Stella Johnson.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life are her husband Robert H. Nickelson; three daughters Phyllis Fryman and husband Bill of Steelville; Sharon Fryman and husband Ron of Potosi; Gail Rulo and husband Ralph of Castle Rock, Co; seven grandchildren Debbie Hochstatter and husband Jeff; Robbie Fryman and wife Brenda; Jennie Oberley and husband Scott; Belinda Kean; Ronda Fryman; Gina Sanford and husband Ken; Amy Hale and husband Lance; thirteen great grandchildren Halli and J.T. Hochstatter, Myles and Morgan Fryman, Allison and Ashlyn Oberley, Colby, Dakota and Harley Kean; Nicole Fryman, Riley and Jack Sanford, Parker Hale; one niece; three nephews and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 12 PM at the DeClue Family Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Colby Kean, Dakota Kean, Pug Fryman, Myles Fryman, Jeff Portell, Dean Portell, Mike Portell and J.T. Hochstatter.

Interment and final prayers were held at the New Masonic Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
