Mary Neff

April 12, 1922 — March 10, 2007

Mary Darkis Neff of Potosi, Missouri passed away on March 10, 2007 at her residence, at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 26 days. She was born on April 12, 1922 at Arkansas, Missouri, a daughter of the late Edward Bouse and Annie Lee (Darcus) Bouse.

Mary was united in marriage to Reynold Neff on September 8, 1940 and seven children were born to this union. Mr. Neff preceded her in death on June 7, 2004. Mary was a member of the Lakewood Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter in-law, Gladys Neff; one brother George Bouse; and a grandson, Sam Emily.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her five sons, Albert Neff and wife Nancy, LeRoy Neff, Eugene Neff and wife Judy, Junior Neff and friend Jennifer, Jimmy Neff and wife Pam all of Potosi; two daughters, Shirley Emily and husband Mike of Potosi, Catherine Kay of Potosi; five sisters, Doshia Shivers and husband Lloyd of Potosi, Lenora Wisdom of Hannibal, Edith McIntire and husband Fuzz of IL, Blanche Young and husband Jerry of IL, Essie Carpenter and husband Stanley of IL; two brothers, Curtis Bouse and wife Barb of Mineral Point and Johnnie Rogers of OK; sister-in-law, Bernice Bouse of Leasberg; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friend who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted at 1PM on Monday, March 12, 2007 at the Lakewood Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Alvie Enloe officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Bill Neff, Dale Neff, Matt Gibson, Ryan Cotner, Tony Kay, Floyd Dickinson, Lloyd Dickinson and Jason Griggs.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Lakewood Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. All arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
