Mary Manion

Mary Katherine Manion (but was always referred to as Katherine) passed away in LaGrange, Georgia on May 5, 2015 at the age of eighty eight years, just four days shy of her 89th birthday. Katherine was born in Cadet, MO on May 9, 1926, but spent most of her married years in Florissant, MO until she and her husband built a home in Mineral Point to enjoy their retirement years. It was in this Mineral Point home that her interests turned to quilting. She and other family members spent many years making and selling numerous quilts and various crafts. Katherine worked at the shoe factory in Potosi and National Vendors in St. Louis. She was a faithful member of Park Baptist Church in Florissant, MO but also attended Potosi Baptist Church and Unity Baptist Church after her return to the Potosi area. She also enjoyed volunteering her time at the Potosi Lions Club and the Washington County Fair. Katherine is survived by her brother Amos Adams, and is lovingly remembered by her children Jean (Terry) Wallis of LaGrange, GA, Judy (Joe) Stein of Wentzville, MO, Jeff (Patti) Manion of LaGrange, GA as well as 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Katherine was preceded in death by Kermit Manion, her husband of forty six years, her parents Charles F. Adams and Laura M. LaChance, siblings Clarence Adams, Everett Adams, Opal Dodd, Theodore Adams, Roy Adams, Alfred Adams, and Juanita Saunchegraw. Visitation and funeral will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, MO 63664. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with the funeral immediately following at 11:30 AM in the DeClue Memorial Chapel. Internment and final prayers will be held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
