Mary Lou Mercer was born on May 1, 1948 in Cadet, Missouri, a daughter to the late Albert John Portell and the late Sarah Josephine (Carter) Portell. Mary Lou passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 having reached the age of seventy years, seven months and two days.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Dale Mercer; son, Bill (Patti) Mercer; daughter, Shelly Mercer; nieces, nephews , extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her infant brother; two sisters: Sally Coleman and Charlotte Mackley; four brothers: Edgar Portell, Martin "Tuney" Portell, Floyd "Punkin" Portell and George Portell.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, Missouri 63664.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 2 p.m. with Elder Leonard Compton officiating.
Interment and final prayers will be held at Redbud Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted into the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
