Mary Lou was well-educated, having received several degrees. She graduated from Ava Bible College and got her Nursing degree in California. Her goal in life was to serve Jesus Christ as a Missionary for others so she moved to Texas, took advanced courses in Spanish and worked as a Missionary nurse/teacher/minister in Mexico, traveling to and from her home in Texas, her MO roots and Mexico. Mary Lou was fortunate enough to travel to Haiti and Africa as well as other places in her Missionary work with the backing of her church, Chruch of God Independent Holiness.
