Mary Olivia “Liz” Huitt of DeSoto, Missouri was born on March 10, 1930 in Washington County, Missouri a daughter to the late Robert Roy Warden and the late Olive Elizabeth (Winfield) Warden. On April 18, 1948, Liz was united in marriage to Jesse Edward Huitt in Belgrade, Missouri and they shared sixty five years together.
Liz entered eternal rest on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Mercy Hospital, Washington having reached the age of eighty-six years, ten months and twenty four days.
Liz will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her son Eddie Joe Huitt and wife Toni of St. James, Missouri; three brothers: James “Bud” Worden of Hallsville, Missouri; Dan Warden and wife Shady of Lesterville, Missouri; Sam Warden and wife Gail of St. Louis; three sisters: Jeanette Kite DeSoto; Etta Mae Tripp of Overbrook, Kansas; Hopie Jenkins and husband Junior of Belgrade; five grandchildren: Jeffery Huitt, Stephanie Pace, Jennefer Simpson and husband Don, Wesley Nipper and Jessica Watkins and husband Chad; seven great grandchildren: Brittney, Brandon, Josh, Tyler, Cassie, Payton and Aidan; sisters-in-law Phyllis Warden of Belgrade and Judy Warden of Washington, Missouri; also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jesse Huitt; daughter Rena (Huitt) Hill; sister Pauline Light; three brothers: Jerry “Wendy” Warden, Delbert Warden and Percy Leroy Warden.
Visitation will be at the DeClue Funeral Home Monday, February 6, 2017 from 5-8 PM and Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 11 AM until 2 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held at the DeClue Memorial Chapel Tuesday, February 7, 2017 with Rev. Ron Barton officiating.
Interment and final prayers will be held at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
