Mary Louella Hollinsworth, of Potosi, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Potosi Manor having reached seventy-three years of age. Mary was born on December 16, 1946 in Ironton, Missouri, a daughter to Edward and Ida Leona (Tripp) Rothlisberger. On June 6, 1970, Mary was united in marriage to the love of her life, William "Billy" Hollinsworth and they shared thirty years together.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William "Billy" Hollinsworth, on December 27, 2000; parents, Edward (Ida) Rothlisberger; and granddaughter, Connie Scott.
Survivors include one son, Terry Hollinsworth; three daughters: JoAnn (Larry) Scott, Debbie Hollinsworth and Amanda Ottinger; two sisters: Frances Rothlisberger and Sherry (Pat) McAtee; eleven grandchildren: Christian Hollinsworth, Ericka Scott, Jessica Scott, Annette Scott, Ashley Mosblech, Donielle Overby, Myles Overby, Pratt Overby, Simmone Cook, Jayna Sherrill and Dason Boyer; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many dear extended family members and friends.
Mary was an avid reader. She read through her Bible from beginning to end numerous time. It was not unusual to see her with a book in her hand. In addition, Mary always enjoyed solving cross word puzzles. In her younger years, she enjoyed embroidery work. She embroidered most of her grandchildren's quilts. Mary always knew how blessed she was in life. She appreciated the beauty God put on this earth for us to see and admire. Mary will be missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at Grassy Hollow Baptist Church beginning at 9:00 AM.
A funeral service to honor Mary will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM, held at Grassy Hollow Baptist Church with Pastor Bryce Wilson officiating. Interment and final prayers will be held at Grassy Hollow Cemetery following the service.
